I am after some advice please ladies! DH passes out of Dartmouth in July and there are a lot of us going to support him, my parents and his and of course DD who is 2!
Having sorted out first dilemma of what I am going to wear I am now panicked as to how to entertain a 2 year old during a very long day! Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Also, I know that there is lunch for everyone in the senior mess room but will I be able to take DD to that as well? I dont much want to ask my parents or in laws to take her away as it seems a little unfair on everyone!

Hi,
Remember to pack some mini bubbles (from tesco's you get six in a pack). Great to keep children entertained.
May be take a pack lunch for her and give it before the senior lunch and maybe a few faviorite books to look at while they eat.
I'm sure some one else can give some ideas.

Ask if there is a creche put on for littlies; there used to be a room near the wardroom called the snake pit that was used for kids eons ago when my Pa was on the staff there.

Is lunch sit down or buffet? If the latter, then that's easier.

haven't you asked DH to find out?

Have you sorted a sitter for the ball and accommodation as well?

Asking DH to find out anything is like pulling teeth! He is so wrapped up in his own little BRNC world at the moment its hard to get any sense out of him... also he is somewhere in the Atlantic at the moment!

I am pretty sure that lunch is a sit down affiar but I know that there will be other children there as well. She is usually pretty good so I am just going to have to wing that one, luckily DD is not a fussy eater, is generally very well behaved and will be fairly entertaining!

My Mum and Dad are then taking her back to Hampshire so that I can enjoy the next 2 days child free!

Thanks for advice on finding out about creche!! VERY good idea!

Could you contact the College directly and ask them?

Being in the Atlantic is no excuse unless he's a submariner!

Next he'll be wrapped up in his specialist training courses, then his first job.....and so it goes, until they are three years from retiring and nothing has changed!

He is a submariner ;)
