DH is on a course in Blandford and he's been told today that their course will be given a list of postings and told to sort it out amongst themselves - what the frick? DH isn't aggressive at all so I just know that if this is true we'll get the one no one wants How can they just expect this to work out properly? Just needed a rant, this has really pissed me off.

Are you sure this isn't a group exercise for the course to see how the group behaves?
Army postings are formally chosen and taken home so that DHs and wives can discuss together. I bet he'll ring tonight and say it's an exercise.

Chulita · 07/06/2010 11:21

I hope so. The last course had the same thing happen to them apparently so I'm not holding my breath.

I would have thought that from a welfare point of view, wives should have a say in postings.

Chulita · 07/06/2010 11:33

Definitely, especially since we're due our second baby about 2 weeks before the course ends. Just to end up somewhere crap with a newborn and all that entails because Glasgow couldn't be bothered to sort anything out would really get my goat. Nothing I can do but wait til DH gets home this evening [twiddles thumbs]

Actually for some branches and trades this can be quite normal - I have come across it before, he must have some idea of what is likely to come up already and you have probably talked about where you would like to go next as we all do with our OH. Hopefully you will get what you want although froma DE housing perspective this is not ideal! Not much notice to find 1/4s!

Drusilla · 07/06/2010 17:37

It is quite normal for Blandford I think.

Chulita · 07/06/2010 19:46

It was a bun fight after all...anyone know anything about Hereford? Looks like that's where we'll be headed unless DH can pull a favour out of his hat.

not lived there but supposedly really nice part of the country - best of luck!

Drusilla · 07/06/2010 22:21

Hereford is ok if you are not after bright lights big city Tis very pretty round there. I believe there are some new quarters, although don't quote me on that!

shoshe · 07/06/2010 22:22

ep normal for Blandford, Hereford not a bad posting tho.

Chulita · 08/06/2010 08:24

I live in bovington at the mo so quite used to not being anywhere near anything! At least I know now it's normal for Blandford but it still seems crazy to me - as if 20 men are ever going to agree on anything!
