before I spontaneously combust! Am a little stressed!

We knew it was on the cards so thankfully had pre empted a few little jobs around the house but OMG the PO arrived Friday and they hubby to start his job there in 4 weeks. Beause of the nature of his new job, he wont be able to take any leave for quite a while, so really we need to move ready for his start date. Did the last move alone, following him on later - not something I am keen to repeat.

So we have decided to go for a high octane 4 week move !!! Get all the stress over and done with in one big swoop!!

We are only moving from Oxford to Wales but with my DH on detatchment up north (so away from home atm) I have awoken this morning in panic mode!!

Have done this tooooooooooooooooooooo many times before so really should know better that come the day it will all come together.

Oh forgot to mention we have a family wedding we HAVE to attend up north too for the weekend before we move (assuming all the dates come together)!! Oh deep joy!! A weekend with my in laws is just what I dont want but cannot avoided!

Have spent this morning frantically calling HIC to establish some MQ info before we fax the forms this afternoon and they have the nerve to be in a big meeting this morning, so am sat here trying to remain focused on all my questions and stuff I need to verify with them for when they call back.

Please come and laugh with me as I let off steam!

No cover for meetings OMG! Must be really frustrating for you! Wales is lovely though - this time next month you'll be there and ready to stash stuff away - great excuse to declutter! Any help or should I drop the Pollyanna attitude?!

Mum72 · 22/03/2010 12:36

Yes brightspark - no cover for meetings. Frustrated is not the word. Just tried calling them again and held for 20 minutes before giving up to get washing in from the rain. Probably all at lunch now!

I really need to speak to them but dont want to pee anyone off in the HIC office as they will be the ones allocating our new house so I at this stage do not want to start demanding calls back etc!

Cannot wait to get to Wales. I am so enthusiastic about this move, feel happier about moving to Wales than I did here.

Have decluttered majorly in recent weeks but there are still a few tardis type areas of our current home that need a good sort through! Where does all this cr*p come from???

The Pollyanna attitude is fine for today.

Finally have spoken to the housing Gods and now have just play the waiting game.

Cannot decide whether I should tackle to new stains I keep spotting on the carpet or if I should start to declutter somewhere I dont want to actually look incase its worse than I fear!

Or perhaps I should just mumsnet and have another cuppa!

get rid of stuff!!!!! stains can wait until the furniture has gone (you'll find more then anyway )

it'll be fine. mad, but fine. concentrate on losing as much as you can, you know how it goes, tip, charity shop, give away.

how lovely - a new start! (i do love moving lol, do find it massively stressful - last time we had to send our belongings 12 weeks in advance - they only confirmed our posting 6 weeks before we flew, so for 6 weeks i was sitting in a house with loads of our stuff in an iso, not even knowing if we were going to follow it...)

don't you just love it!

(oh, and drink tea - copious amounts.)

(with cake if poss)

(to keep your energy levels up)

{grin]

are you going to st athan? (just curious lol - i loved taking the dog to the beach there)

StrictlyKatty · 22/03/2010 16:39

This is going to happen to me in May. Beginning of May we'll find out where we're moving, end of May we'll move!

It's madness!

Mum72 · 25/03/2010 08:29

Sorry I have been busy sorting crap our worldy belongings this week so not online too much.

Any idea where you are off to Strictly?
We knew this was in the pipeline but they kept us at RAF Limbo for almost a year before coming to a decision and now they have kindly given us 4 weeks to move!! Gotta love it! They obviously think I am superwoman.

Well today is my last child free day before the big move. They break up for Easter tomorrow for pretty much a whole month. Much as I am excited about them coming home I am feeling a little stressed atm as our home resembles a mad house and I have no idea where the hell I will put all the stuff they tend to accumulate and bring home at the end of term.

The man at the local tip has started winking at me and saying "hello my darlin, you back again". Am just hoping I have not chucked out someones, special treasures - I just know I will soon hear someone say "has anyone seen my......?" and I just know it will be something I have taken to the tip.
