Anyone know of any B&Bs or rooms to let in Cosham/Portsmouth area?

Hi,

Am getting all excited now about moving to Portsmouth in February (probably, depends on the Navy, not sure exactly where or when). Miraculously have managed to get an interesting job in Cosham - 12 hours/week term-time only! - only trouble is it starts in January. They have been brilliant and are allowing me to work Thurs/Friday so that I can travel down every week until our move happens.

What I am hoping to do is find a nice place to stay for one day a week where I can leave a sponge-bag but no more between trips. It would be great to find somewhere near Cosham itself to keep travel down. Just thought someone might have suggestions of B&Bs in the area or perhaps know someone who might be happy to let a room one (possibly two?) nights a week for about six weeks in January/Feb 2010. We services types often know of good B&Bs as used for visiting visitors...

All tips gratefully received! Cheers

Hi ya, me again........

Sorry can't help with B&Bs but haven't said congrats on the job yet - so congrats!

Good luck

Oh hello Alloveryet - thought it was worth a try posting here but no luck so far. Still You Never Know, eh?

Thanks for the congratulations. Is always exciting when someone sees 'employable, likeable persona' across an interview desk as opposed to 'certifiable misfit'!

Must go and look for other topics in which might be appropriate to post message (and explore real world avenues of course. I mean, ahem, internet is not all powerful. Is it?)

Hurray, we got our house allocation at last. We shall be at no.69, oo-err missus. It's in Old Portsmouth mind but we shall be visiting Gosport (if only for lovely Cake Shoppe, bacon sarnies & charity shops!). Mind you the main thing is that we are not far off the beaten track - am sure Lee-on-Solent is lovely but I really didn't fancy the commute...

Now must be off to ingratiate myself with Old Portsmouth's finest.
