Anyone know about quarters in Colerne?

We may be looking for a Type 4 quarter in Colerne. Has anyone lived there? Does anyone have a postcode for the patch so I can pop over and have a look?

Thank you!

We lived there from 2005 - 2007, I think ours was a grade 3, I didn't know there were any grade 4? There are two distinct areas - Northwood which is still pretty shabby inside but they are old RAF quarters so a little bit bigger with downstairs loos etc and kitchens that were upgraded about 20 years ago. Or there is Southwood, smaller houses, even more shabby and outdated with no downstairs toilets (am guessing this is what you will get if you are after a grade 4!). On the plus side, when we moved in in 2005 every house had just had a power shower installed. If you are interested there is a brand new 7am - 7pm 0-5 daycare centre just been built. If you like the countryside it's a lovely area to live and the people in the village (about half a mile walk) are very fiendly. Do you drive, as it's fairly isolated?! Bath and Chippenham within easy driving distance but the buses are none to speak of.

Our postcode was SN14 8QA. The lady in the Hive there, Marion, is lovely

Another thing I have just thought of, how many DC do you have? Everything on Southwood is 2 and 3 bed (although the third bed is miniscule). The 4 beds are on Northwodd and very roomy

Hi Drusilla. Thanks for the info. It is Type 4, rather than Grade 4, I'm looking for, which is 4 bed, so I guess that might be Northwood? I will give the HIVE a ring - thanks for the tip - and I'll have a drive around one day next week.

Sorry, if I had read your OP properly I wouldn't have blathered on! Nice and big then but a bit shabby.

Sounds good. I like the idea of being in the countryside and if the houses are shabby at least they'll be cheaper, so we will be able to buy the second car we'll obviously need!
