Hello. I thought I'd finally introduce myself as I've been looking on here for advice for months now. My dp is at Sandhurst, hopefully finishing in April. I can't wait, it has been so hard. I just want a little bit more time with him now. I need some support and I think you guys are the best to do it.
It drives me mad when my friends dps spend a night away and its like its the end of the world when I haven't seen my dp for weeks. I have no idea how I will cope when he's away for months. Roll on April. Two weeks with him.

Welcome fruitycake! I'd like to say it gets easier but I think knowing other folks in same position is what helps a lot. Good luck!

Hello MotherOfGirls. That's exactly what I thought. It's hard not having anyone there who knows what you're going through. I've had so many people tell me that he will have girls all over the place just because he's in the army. These are people who are supposed to care and I don't think they realise that their comments really don't help. I'm sure I'll get lots of support on here.

I'm sure you will. Are you living in quarters? Or do you plan to do so after Sandhurst? We all dream of having our own homes, but living among like-minded people can help keep you sane too!

We're not married so can't live in quarters. He proposed in November but no wedding plans yet. He's said he wants to get married this year but then tells me we can't plan it yet. So not sure what will happen. He finds out where he will be posted in next few weeks. Let's hope its not too far away.

Welcome! Army wife of 14 years here. Have lived all over the place - and kept a career!

Feel free to ask away. Anything to help. What regiment is your fiance joining?
