Hi. my twins left hospital on aptimal prematil ha. they are both now between 3500 and 4000g. they generally drink around 120ml each. i asked the hv about which milk formula to go on next, but she said if they are happy on the one above to stick with it. if this is the case why have so many different types? not speaking fluent german, we do not have a clue which one if any to go on next? sorry to prattle on, but would like some answers. thanks

ella...I am german and just looked at the german Milupa website...can't find aptamil, can just find milumil and it seems that it is used up to 6 month and then you go up to whatever else milk.....not sure if it helps...

I remember seeing it in German Switzerland - there was a normal and hypoallergenic version and they were numbered. Does this help?

just looked at Lizs's link and it looks like in germany there is definately only 1 sort of milk (in hypoallergenic and non-hypoallergenic version) up until 6 month....
i.e. no such thing as hungrier milk, etc...as it seems to be over here in the UK.

ooops, had a proper look now....anyhow, by the way it looks all of those in the first category can be used up until 6 month....
however, the pre and number 1 milk might be the different "stages" , but either seems to be fine in the first 6 month...

oh, and congratulations on the birth of your twins!

congratulations on the birth of your twins. I'm using Aptamil HA. The Prebirth version and HA 1 are nearly identical. Difference liese merely in the vitamines added. HA 2 and HA 3 have a slightly higher caloric value. I was also told by our hv that we should stick to the prebirth version as long as possible. And HA2 after seven months.
