after months of banging our heads againsed mouldy walls, we finally got a manager out yesterday.

he called back this morning to say we will need to be moved beefore the work can start.

we have requsted the move (worried about the dd's health) but i am sure that no family should have to live in these conditions.

where do you think i will stand on disturbance allowence?

will we be covered for the move, we know the houses we would like to move to and it is going to involve buying loads new curtains etc!

I would def push for disturbance allowance if you are in a quarter that is not habitable. Are you moving out temporarily or for good?

YouNeverKnowIMightFlounce · 20/11/2008 13:24

god thats awful glad you finally are getting somehwere. is it really bad?
sorry no idea on the allowance would it not be same though as you are having to be moved by them?

Shoshe · 20/11/2008 13:28

We are having to move, because our quarter is being refurbished, we will get the full works, packers, removals and disturbance.

kerryk · 20/11/2008 13:38

it will for good, they will actually have to break through walls/roofs to sort it out.

i will try and get pictures uploaded later to show how bad it is!!!

i know of someone who asked for a move because of mould but she got no help. hopeing that because of how bad ours is we will get help.

best part was we had guests staying at the start of the week so i had beed round and scrubbed most of it away (yet again) we only left 2 ceilings as they were so they could see what we had to live with.

all my curtains/voiles etc are all ruined and will have to be replaced anyway.

Yes, you will get DA for the move as you are not moving through choice (they are moving you to do the work). You won't get as much as you would for a 50+ mile move, as they take out the element which would be for new school uniform etc. You will get full packing and removals (a family on our street had this to literally move from one side of the road to the other (larger house on promotion).

Well done and good luck! Hopefully you won't have to clean it either!

This will give you a guide of what you'll get. The rates changed a while ago though, and Officers rates went down and others went up, so they won't be exactly right.
