Perhaps this might be of interest to somebody you know?

Activity holidays for Bereaved Families - Pilot Scheme
The Ministry of Defence and YHA will be running an activity holidays pilot scheme in August 2009 for bereaved Service Families.

The holidays will be from 1 - 8 August 2009 at YHA Coverack, Cornwall and 8 - 15 August 2009 at YHA Whitby, North Yorkshire.

This pilot project is aimed at bereaved children and their parent/carer. Families with children under the age of 19 years old and have suffered the loss of either a mother or father (including step and other legal relationships) will qualify.

The head of family will be charged f50 for the week; all children will go free less spending money and some optional activities.

The aim of the activity camps is for families to be in an adventurous, safe and supportive environment to allow them to foster self confidence and friendship whilst having fun.

How to apply

In the New Year applications for each holiday will be made available from the Service Widows' Associations and other military and charity web sites.
