For work, I've got to send a letter from France to someone in the forces in Cyprus. It is an address in Cyprus followed by 'BFPO number'

Do I need to send this to Cyprus or Great Britain?

TIA

UK I think - that is where all the post is sorted.

UK, as all the BFPO post goes to a depot in the UK from whence it is sent to its ultimate destination. There should be no mention of Cyprus in the address at all...for instance,

Capt J Bloggs RE
58th Flying Squad
BFPO xxxx

....doesn't give you a clue where they are, but the mail will get there.

You will need to put UK underneath the BFPO number for the letter to get to the BFPO in the first place.

Trust me.....I am an end user of this service in a country not far from you.

Tot ziens!

Don't put Cyprus on it otherwise it will go into the republic system and it won't get there for ages. DH's mothers insists on doing this and we recently received DD's birthday card - from February!!!!!

UK is required if posting from France to get it from France to the UK where it will then be flown out to Cyprus.
