Hello, This year will be my first Christmas ball. Is a ball gown expected? I dont want to look like a bridesmaid.

Im only 5ft 2" so i tend to look swamped in long dresses.

That Coast dress is gorgeous in red! But how unhelpful is the website - length, Maxi - um thanks, I'm 5 foot 1 so does that mean LL and I will both fit in it, one from each end?

I actually like to dress up a bit for mess dos and balls - not bridesmaids frills but something a bit glam. I also avoid black as everyone else seems to wear black.
I know this is Monsoon but how gorgeous is this?

I went into Coast today - quite nice stuff, but a little bit run of the mill (IMO!)

Haven't checked out Phase Eight yet.

Ooooh, Temperley. Now you are talking! I have one of her dresses

Nice style - but don't like the applique detail. Fussy, moi?

Real Ben de Lisi - that's brilliant! That's when qeueing at the sales (whilst wearing disguise in case boss spies you at the door of Selfridges when you are meant to be at work) is worthwhile

no ball for me this year! hubby in training

I love hte dress you shown us! I had one very similar in a bottle green for xmas ball 2007 and was the only one! I like long dresses, I'm only 5'3 but it makes the night feel so special dressing up I reckon

3 and no more - I love the second link you put on saved for another time lol

3andnomore · 07/09/2008 09:02

Oh yes, that one is beautyful isn't it...lovely simple....but for me that lenght is the worst I could do...make my legs look like treetrunks...I always have to have above the knee or ankle to really long...
