She lives at the top of the st and I am living at the bottom. I am looking forward to mivning up there and getting a social life again.. being able to walk into town.. olr not have to pay so much for a taxi... getting excited now.......
If you want to contact me my emnail is karen0701athotmail.com. Just but your chat name in the title so I know who it is.. bet you cant guess my first name..lol.

VanillaPumpkin · 14/07/2008 12:59

2plus1, why did you nearly cry ?
Kerry - Hope dd is fully recovered now.
Hello everyone else.

Scootergrrrl · 14/07/2008 15:16

Hello all! Is it fundamentally wrong to occasionally wish you could swap jobs with your DH just because he's in a place where no one is sick on him in the night.... Mine's nowhere special, just away on a course for a week - staying in a hotel no less!
Am knackered - DD has tummy bug. It's just taken me 10 minutes to do a 12 piece Fimbles jigsaw with DS.... my brain is in bits!

kerryk · 14/07/2008 15:59

nope nothing wrong with that at all i often think dh has the easy end of the deal.

hope dd is feeling a bit better now.

my own dd is much better after the bump to her head, she was acting weird on saturday though. usually she is really laid back but she was like someone possesed, laughing hysterically and about climbing the walls. i was starting to panic incase this was some weird side effect of concussion but dh finally admitted that he had given her robinsons juice by accident (we found out when she was tiny that this makes her loopy)

Scootergrrrl · 14/07/2008 16:33

I thought she was, but we've got another pair of pants to add to the washing pile, if you get my drift. And DS has just finger-painted the wall with ketchuppp.
How many minutes til bedtime??

kerryk · 14/07/2008 16:39

look on the brightside, it would have been so much worse if you had finger painted with something else

Scootergrrrl · 14/07/2008 17:04

Ah, the unerring positivity of the forces wife It's the only thing that keeps you going sometimes, isn't it?

Wezzle · 14/07/2008 17:05

just e-mailed ye

G&B is en route

Scootergrrrl · 14/07/2008 17:06

Ah chocolate! Did the stuff work?

Wezzle · 14/07/2008 17:09

Well, hard to tell really,

he has tonsilitis!!

so it's been a bit of a mare.

Saving the tablets for when he's cured

twoplusone · 14/07/2008 18:13

VP- Just the way the st is.. it doesnt look very nive at all.. esp compared to where I am living now.. were we are now is very spacious and open.. and almost looks like you live in a little village.. which I suppose we do.. But the new quarter the houses in one part of the st really look onto one another.. you could prob easily see inside the front room opposite with out trying. Luckily as my house is at the bottom it means I have a communual front garden and i Look onto the officers houses which are a bit more pleasing to the eye....
But as I said once inside the houses they are nice.. so will just have to get some nice window dressing..

VanillaPumpkin · 14/07/2008 18:58

Oh right . I was very pleased with our quarter here until I walked into the garden and realised we were overlooked by 6 other houses / gardens. That nearly made me cry after the move from hell, back from Cyprus. You will know though how quickly you get used to things though. You won't even notice it when you have been there a bit I bet. Glad the houses are nice though.

Lol at the unending optimism of the military wife. How true, how true.

Scootergrrrl · 14/07/2008 19:13

"My husband is off to Afghanistan for six months, leaving me and four children in a house the size of a postage stamp, hundreds of miles from my family. Oh well, at least I'll be able to watch what I want on the telly."

FourArms · 14/07/2008 19:21

My heart fell when I saw our garden here. DH had said it was nice, but we are very overlooked - at least 6 houses can see into our garden, in fact the whole street can chat over garden fences too as they're so low. After our last house with a 180 degree sea view it seemed horrific. Esp since we back onto civvy houses and the one directly behind us was having major building work done when we moved in, and had a huge party the same week. At least with quarters you could ring the MOD plod. Civvy police said it wasn't their problem (at 3am), and to call env. health, who reopened on Monday morning (this was Friday evening!).

I'm an oldie to MN, but have namechanged recently! I've spoken to a few of you before (my parents used to live in Cyprus if that's a clue )

Scootergrrrl · 14/07/2008 19:27

Sounds like a nightmare! I did notice that you used the traditional army wife phrase "at least...." in there though!

VanillaPumpkin · 14/07/2008 19:42

Hello FourArms I know who you are I think. Married to a subbie?? Parents back somewhere towards the East of the UK now . Trying to be vague for you. Two ds's??

FourArms · 14/07/2008 21:17

Yes that's me

BitTiredNow · 14/07/2008 21:31

Hi y'all - sorry to be out for so long - too much to do, too little time - at least (!) DH is away so I can have the bed to myself..... two, I will e-mail. Glatzer is OK I think - I have 2 good friends there who are ace. I am on Goethe and all the horrid ones are leaving this summer (bring out the flags) I will e-mail you before I go - back to UK for 3 weeks this Fri to mainline curry and loiter around sainsbury's scaring the shop assistants....
