Probably not but it is a small world this forces one.

Kerryk - You are def allowed a rant. DH did a 9 mth course weekending bc and I hated it. His ooa was easier for me.

Shoshe · 11/07/2008 11:41

yes she is asleep now thanks, she jump onto the firemans pole but throw her head back at the same time and gave herself a right whack of the platform, she really has got a egg bump.

what really annoyed me though is that there was 3 other mums in the park all with small children and none of them even came over to try and help she came to pretty quick and was screaming her head of but they all turned there backs and glanced round evey few seconds while i struggled to carry her back to the car with dd2 in tow.

sugababe2 · 11/07/2008 22:23

hey all just bumping, oh kerryk how is she xx

sugababe2 · 11/07/2008 22:28

where u based kerryk, we r at halton, dh just went to falklands on sunday for 4 months, so what happens? i had an electrical test this morning the switch for the cooker failed so i cant use the cooker, he couldn,t change the switch but has put an emergency works order in for it, the switch in the plug socket in the garage also failed so having to run an extension cable from kitchen to garage for chest freezer which means i cant shut back door

we are scotland. getting itchy feet now though, we would love to go to germany or cyprus.

i do love it here because we are close to family and the kids are really settled but i would like them to experience a diffrent country for a few years then settle back here for dd1 going to high school.

sugababe2 · 11/07/2008 22:51

where r u in scotland, we moved from kinloss 3 months ago

kerryk · 11/07/2008 22:54

about 20 mins from edinburgh, so handy for getting into town if need be but far enough out of it to still have some green around me!

sugababe2 · 11/07/2008 22:57

i would love to experience a different country but dh has only 4 years left in if he doesnt get promoted so i think it is highly unlikely boo hoo!!!

sal1309 · 11/07/2008 23:50

kerry thats awful hope your dd is ok and i cant believe them other mums how rude.

Cyprus is a great tour imo, especially if you have children. I have only heard good things about Germany too though of course that isn't an option for us RAF now . All our Army friends from Cyprus came from Germany and went back there. They loved it.
The one who made it back to the UK eventually is now emigrating to NZ

Scootergrrrl · 12/07/2008 18:13

There's a few RAF where we are in Germany - they even still have a Blues Club!

VanillaPumpkin · 12/07/2008 18:26

Are there? That is interesting. Def not dh's trade though.
Have any of you Germany dwellers been told your regiments are moving back to the UK and the camps are closing....officially I mean????

Scootergrrrl · 12/07/2008 18:35

The camp where we are is closing in 2012 - alledgedly! ARRC (the multi-national HQ) is going in 2010 and then the support stuff follows a couple of years later but we'll be long gone. We'll be gone in a couple of weeks actually

BitTiredNow · 12/07/2008 20:42

Osnabruck is closing down as we type. There are a few RAF guys with us here too.

VanillaPumpkin · 13/07/2008 09:17

The DCAE is supposed to be moving to St Athan by 2012 I think and it was reported that a regiment will come here from one of the German bases after it shuts. However there are now rumours that they are going to re-tender the contract or something as they have already run out of money for the re-location?????
