Anyone going to High Wycombe summer ball 4th july? < hopeful emotion>

Hello there just wondering if any of you lovely ladies are going . Its my first time down there and I won't know a soul. ( sad person that I am )
my DH has been down there for 19months , but I live up in Lincs so have never socialised with the others.
I am worried I will be bored cos he will end up talking shop all night .Also boredom = gettingtotally pissed drunk

no i wont be there but i have had (still have) the same problem. dh is posted away just now so i had to go to him for our xmas ball last xmas. was dreading it as i did not know anyone but luckily one of his friends wives was a total nutter really rather lovely and made sure i did not feel like a spare part.

just go expecting the worse and that way it can only get better

I agree!! my hubby works away and everyone made me feel more than welcome

I think Iam just being my usual un confident self and it will be fine.
Maybe its because my Dh has just been promoted, is in a new office,and he hardly knows anyone aswell.
Maybe i should just stuff my self full of food and drink , then rettire to bed at a suitable time.

You will have a great time I am sure. I hope you meet our friends. She is lovely and her dh is newly promoted and new to his job too. Her initials are JT and his are TT. I don't actually know if they are going, but I can't imagine they aren't .
Anyway there will be lots of lovely people there and you know what forces are like. We talk to anyone, especially after a drink or ten two . All the games will be there to break the ice too. Have fun!
