Rupert Everett is not shy when it comes to expressing his opinions. Now he's risked the wrath of British servicemen and women by labelling them "wimps".

Everett told a Sunday newspaper: "The whole point of being in the Army is going to war and getting yourself blown up. They are always whining about the dangers of being killed. They are such wimps now. It's pathetic, all this whining."

WTF?

What a ruddy cheek though. He even compares it to being on stage - as theatre critics can kill too!

I daresay nobody will take much notice of Rupert Everett's ignorant and ill-informed opinions on this matter as it is really yet another not-very-subtle attempt to get attention.

Doesn't mean it doesn't hack me off in the extreme that he says it all, as it shows a total lack of understanding and disrespect for the actual job that the Armed Forces do!

But contrary to what he probably intends, it actually makes him look a lot worse than anyone in the Army.

tiredemma · 09/06/2008 18:00

he is such a ponce.

hf128219 · 09/06/2008 18:05

It's just the point that he actually says it - attention seeking or not.

LadyK - there is one person I know in the army who actually pissed all over a fellow passenger (a stranger) on a flight to Sydney. That is quite bad too

Yes, you should have heard what he said about the RAF! And as for those Navy boys...

hf128219 · 09/06/2008 19:42

Actually come to think of it he is just jealous that he can't get his hands on all those fit men - particularly the navy boys

Shame the media felt they needed to give the lanky streak of rubbish haired piss the space to spout such crap. In my opinion

MuchLessTiredNow · 09/06/2008 21:31

twat

scotlass · 10/06/2008 15:47

wasn't he the one who moaned so much on celebrity apprentice and quit on the first day???

Now hands up who thinks they'd like to see the documentary Rupert goes to Afghanistan with our wimpy soldiers . I wonder which theatre he'd prefer then.

scaryteacher · 10/06/2008 16:25

send the bugger to sea with either the bomber queens or the real submariners and then see what he says! Alternatively put him through Marine Cdo training....don't worry the real men in Afghanistan with him.

saltire · 10/06/2008 19:04

I think a hurl round Glencoe in a Tornado or Eurofighter would finsih him off. It nearly did with DH!

wheresthecorkscrew · 10/06/2008 20:20

I know someone who'd happily push him out of a plane - shame they might just forget to strap him to the one with the parachute ..... byeeee .....

Berryred · 11/06/2008 20:27

at the responces to him haha!!
