My Dh is stationed at High Wycombe .
Long story but he has been there since Jan 07 .We were meant to move last year but family happenings stopped that . He has just been told he is on the list to be promoted ,this will mean a job move. We hoped to get him back nearer here, Lincoln, but he has been offered another job at HW, a short notice posting.
Do we say yes ,or play devils advocate and wait for something we would prefer . Also do I try again to move or stay put being a part time family?
God I hate descisions

we are living apart on a 2 year posting just now. NEVER AGAIN so fed up of living like a single parent and i know he hates missing out on everything. we could not help it though as i was half way through a college course and would have lost all my work if we moved, likewise he would have missed out on promotion if he did not take the posting.

i would not pass up the chance of promotion, you dont know when you might get it again and next time it might be to somewhere even worse.

Found something gross stuck in the keys.
He will be promoted by Jan09 as he is on the list for then ,but you often get offered a job before then . This will mean he gets paid substantively til Jan then get it properly. Hope that makes sense.
So far we were offered St Mawgan and now High Wycombe. We are worried he will get sent to Bagdad for 6 months if we keep turning things down.
We have already been a part time couple since jan 07 . I want to be with him but there always seems to be a problem . last year we had to give up our allocated MQ as both our dads died within 3 wks of each oother and the DHE told us they would not hold it for us to make a decision.

Just had a call from DH , he is taking the job.
Now I need to know about Bradenham Beeches and Walters Ash ,as thats where the MQ are.
Anyone I have a 5yr old DD so i need to know about schools as well.

Depending on his rank they are short of quarters at HW. My friend is going into a hiring though so they will find you somewhere. I think you have made a good decision. Another two friends of mine loved HW. Good Luck.
