I hear ya, honey
Can I join you on the rocking chair?
My dh is one month into a 6 month deployment and my ds and dd miss him so much that they're angry with me and it's so tiring being on my own!

shabster · 17/02/2008 22:57

oh love - thats a tough situation.

My lovley BIL was in the army and had to go to Northern Ireland many times.

We missed him so much and cherished the moments he was home.

He now lives in Paderborn, Germany and would never come home to live - it is a difficult time isint it?

sending you a case of virtual wine and a giant box of chocolates - chin up love x

Hi Hun join the club my hubby is 1week into a 6month tour.. I am in germany, so like you on my own with the three children..

How old are your children are they able to help out.

I am finding it ok but our cam ohas just delpoyed 250men so there are alot inthe same situation. We are just trying to help each other and chat.. have you got a local families bar, I have started taking my children uo there in a sunday afternoon so they can play and the middle one can run around. it is the half term this week and the big hols I am dreading as Dh isnt due back till 21st August then has to work for 2weeks before he gets leave so he will start his leave as the older children go back to school.. typical.

Chin up love and remember we are always here.xx

Cheers ladies, I know I'm not the only one needing wine and chocolate!!

Luckily I have got some great friends, they keep me sane(ish) and I'm sure it will fly by, it always does when you're busy. I find weekends the worst as everyone else always seems to be doing family stuff, I shall just have to plan lots of things to do with the girls. (They are 9, 4 and 17 months).

Ah well it's half term, the sun is shining and I have to go to work this afternoon - bummer!

sorry love - it is truly tough. I have just done a horrid year with lots of separation, and I have to say, MN was a life line for me. TwoPlusOne - where are you? Close enough to Herford for a meet up?

McDreamylove · 18/02/2008 18:53

awww sending you hugs

BitTiredNow · 18/02/2008 18:53

forgot to add - dh has been home for 8 days and went back into work today and was told he is away again on ex in 4 weeks - for 3 weeks, straight after his POTL. Bum bum bum - you'd think they'd let him enjoy a little bit of 9-5 for a while - and me for that matter....

kerryk · 18/02/2008 20:59

we do the weekend commute just now as well sammy, i hate it. i would sometimes prefer him to be on tour then rushing up every friday then leaving the kids in tears every sunday.

SammyC · 18/02/2008 21:17

I am lucky he is coming home at weekends but it messes up the wee ones and of course my sort of routine! ha ha...sorry to take over thread xx

SammyC · 18/02/2008 21:18

Thanks Kerry K nice to know not alone on the down days x

Sidge · 18/02/2008 21:26

LOL SammyC I know what you mean about them buggering up your routine, in some ways it's easier when they just go.

LL if you're serious about a get together then CAT me, I'm always up for a cuppa and cake (or a decent Merlot ) and I'm just over the water from you.
