aww....it's a long time, I assume he is Navy?
Anyway, try to keep busy, has always helped me

Maybe make yourself a little goal,. for instance if you have some weight to loose then now is the time, etc...much more impact when they have a slimmer wife on return, then if they are there during the weightloss journey...

Well we have just said goodbye.. I amn alittle teary.. but it still feels so sureal.. But i already feel like a piece of me is missing.. he is my best friend as well as dh..

dur...I misread the title, and thought, originally he was away for 1 year, and the first 6 month (till r&r) start now...dur!

My dh left last year just before February, to go to afghanistan, and it was difficult, but I try to not really think what is going on out there, and stuff...I don't watch news, or anything especially when he is away...because, I think I might get to worried about things...and think that if I need to know something I will be told, iykwim...with our Kids, daddy going away is never made a big fuss off, and daddy returning, until he actually does return, never was made important neither...have seen to many Kids disappointed when daddy didn't arrive on time/day, etc...because the airplane all broke down, etc...
This means that lenght of daddy being away isn't really counted...obviously they do realise that sometimes daddy is longer away than otehrs, but I jsut say daddy will be back as soon as he can...
not sure that helps...
hope you are alright!

3andmore.. we have told ds1 (middle child) that daddy is earning pennies and will be away a lont time.. DD whi is 11yeaRs old knows what ss giong on the the baby 6months obviously really doesnt have a clue.. i must admit the school here is good, they have told dd that her and her friend whose dad has gone also can have extra time in the computers to email daddy. They also make sure the little nes do special piccies for daddy to send out to them atleast once amonth. One of the comouter suites is opened to the parents twice aweek incase they dont have one at hime so they can go on army net and speak to loved ones.
DS1 nursery teachers husband has gone too, they are going to do a sort of map etc and sit with the children and do things abut it. One of the dads has also takenbarnaby bear so he will be emialing pics to the the school re barnabies stay in Afghan..

I am the same as you when he was there last year i didnt watch the news etc..

Right of to bed as I am rambkling nand cant type.. emotions are high and I am tired.. thebos will have e up in a few hours.. ans so it begins.lol.. dont worry my chin is up of the floor.. and looking forward to my little milestones..

aw, sounds like all is very well organised and local support is there....but , if you feel the need to talk, I am here, and so are the others...we have all been there and done it, and we all have different ways to get through it!
Have a good night, try to rest and try not to worry to much, remeber your dh is well trained and knows what he does, and that will help him an awful lot!
