I called them today to say that the fence on either side of my garden have blown down. I now no way fo keeping either neighbours dogs out, both bits of fencing are lying flat in my side of the garden and there are big long rusty nails sticking out.
i called Horrible Housing Solutions and they said to me

"Oh well, mrs saltire, we won't be coming out to fix any fences until the stormy weather and rain we are having passes over - and that won't be until April"

SO, if we are having stormy weather and rain until April perhaps I need to build an Ark!

lol!! - and sorry for your situation. So HHS are weathermen now?

That's terrible! We had the same problem, and they came out the following week. The repairman came on the appointed day, but didn't actually do the repair (as it required concrete and took about 6 hours), until a dry day which was fair enough.

Keep trying. Maybe they've been inundated with this type of call this week.

Ring again! They fixed our fence within two days. Try and get the neighbours to report it too esp if they are the ones with the dogs. We have a dog and so if any fences go down I consider them my responsibility to get right, or the dog doesn't go out there.

i dont know what you are complaining about saltire, at least you have been given advance warning and have time to build your ark.

what about all us poor souls who have hedges, we are blissfully unaware of what is going to happen to us.

We had the same thing last year. We just kept on ringing and ringing until they put some temporary fencing up (our fence that blew down was the rear one that backs on to a path so our house was completely exposed)
The replacement fence came in April... coincidence that it was at the beginning of the financial year? I think not!

Pester for a temporary fence. Our one was like the fencing that goes up around a building site... not the prettiest thing in the world, but better than nothing.

Good luck!
