Sandhurst Commissioning parade

DS1 decided he wanted to join the military and has been at Sandhurst since January. His commissioning parade is in December and I have no idea what to wear. I’m a middle- aged, horsey, country bumpkin of a single mum. My ex will be there with his new, blonde, slim, glamorous London wife. Would a tweed suit be acceptable?

No idea about dress code. I just wanted to say that I hope you have a great day and enjoy feeling like a proud mum. Don’t give the new blonde a second thought. This is a chance for you to celebrate your son’s achievements and mentally congratulate yourself on doing such a great job.

Tweed suit.... Come on hun vamp it up a little. Go to debenhams they will help you find something that says fuck you new wife im here and im not going anywhere. Spicy is good sometimes...

You sound fabulous. What's your budget? Because I think you need Vivienne Westwood Flowers

Class always classy. Something in the middle and non countryfied would be good. Tweed can be a bit 'basic' and bland in some situations. Know your worth and in that situation I'd take a male friend..The elusive air of mystery Wink
Whoever said debenhams, yes that's a wonderful shop but not sure it survived lockdown :( Totally love Debenhams.

John Lewis do a free personal styling service. Give your nearest a ring and book an appt soon ish so you can meet the team and get used to being advised about what suits you. Once you’ve done this a couple of times you will feel excited and confident to pick your outfit.

There is never pressure to buy and sometimes I really love what they pick.

Huge congrats to you & your son. How exciting!!
