Joining the army with DP

My DP is thinking of going back into the army after a few years out, and I have seen an army position in HR which would actually be great for me, and it seems you are attached to a battalion so still have to travel around.

Does anyone know the likelihood that we would be able to request being deployed to the same locations? Or whether this would be allowed if we got married? Thank you Smile

Every military couple I know, not one of them have been deployed together. It could happen, in theory. In practice, one usually ends up leaving so they travel together, or they break up.

The RAF definitely try & post married couples together.
The Armed Forces isn't like it used to be - they have brought in flexible working, part time working, postings out industry.

It does happen and manning will try their best but it's very much a case of what's best for the Army comes first. Don't rely on it.
