Chickenpox and pregnancy

Hi ladies
I have a question which had me worrying. I am 13 weeks pregnant and had mild chickenpox when I was a child. I was sat with my team at lunch and the guy who was sat next to me casually said one of his daughters has chicken pox. He was saying he wasn’t sure if he had had it or not. I am now really worried that potentially I could still get ill and it could affect the baby. Could I catch it again ? (Or is it a myth that if you haven’t had it seriously you can catch it again) and vene if he has not blisters, could he still be contagious? Thanks in advance! Xx

Very unlikely. Even mild chicken pox should give you immunity. I only had a few spots as a child and my DC have just both had it. I didn't catch it again despite sharing baths and beds with them. No reason why he should be 'carrying' the virus just because his kids had it - unless he's got it himself. Call your midwife if you need reassurance but I really wouldn't worry.

Thankyou for the advice! I was worried because he said he couldn’t remember if he had had it or not. X
