Babies: Before, During or After?

Hello,
My OH has been thinking about joining the Army for a while. I'm very supportive, but as we are both nearly 27 and married, the fact that we definitely want children will factor into when/if he signs up.

Basically, I was just wanting to get people's thoughts on when would be the 'best' time for us to plan to have a baby: before, during or after my OH's Basic Training period? (Obviously there isn't really one best time, but hearing your thoughts/opinions/personal experiences would be great!)

Thanks in advance

My husband's in the Navy, so not an exact match, but some similarities at least... His basic training was intense, 9 months of him needing to be on a base almost 24-7, including 3 months away on a ship. Definitely wouldn't have been comfortable having a baby immediately before / during that. I know a few of my friends have had them (almost) immediately after, which has been fine as long as you're able to travel with them - and I know Army travel more than Navy. Personally, we're waiting until his next assignment in 18 months-ish, when he will hopefully be able to move closer to home. I haven't moved with him and he's in Scotland, whereas I'm in Southampton, so getting pregnant now would mean I'd be on my own for the majority. We're 26, so no immediate rush, but if it was up to him we'd be trying now.

As I said, this is just the Navy, would be helpful to talk to some Army wives though, in my experience they're happy to chat - got any friends of friends who might have experience?
