Submariner WAG reaching out!

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if anyone here was a submariner WAG? My boyfriend is currently on his first deployment and it is really weird not having ANY contact with him at all. To be honest, it's a bit like he's temporarily died?! I am definitely going through some sort of grieving thing.

I moved up to Glasgow to live with him (we've been together a while) and he got sent off a few days after we moved in, absolutely devastating and I was really nervous about being up here alone.

So now I am trying to adjust to a new job, a new city, a new flat all by myself, harumph!

So sorry - no questions really, just whinging! x

Hi I am a Submariners WAG too!!

We have been together 5 years four of which he was in Glasgow and away 4 months every yr.

He is now shore based for 2 yrs much closer to home and not on a boat HURRAH!!

I have found there is very little support ESP for WAGs like me who do not live on patch.

Please feel free to PM me and I don't come on the FS board much I normally lurk in AIBU!!

Hope you are going ok - I wrote a little section of a letter to him every day like a diary and posted them to him so he could read them before he came alongside - it helped keep me sane!!

Hey! Sorry late to the party. By soon-to-be husband is on his first "proper" patrol and its EXACTLY like he's temporarily dead, glad I'm not going completely mad (my family definitely thought I was being hysterical). He's been away before but I didn't realise how much the 30 mins of phone calls a week really helped.
I'm living near Portsmouth while he's in Scotland, he's on a course for a while when he's back so will be closer till Sept, but straight after the honeymoon he's back to Faslane ergh!

Waves Me too. Feel free to PM me any time anyone needs a moan. Not long to go now OP if I'm guessing correctly, hope you've got into the stride of it and are enjoying the countdown. xx

Hi both!

Yes my bf is back and it is amazing. Longest 3 months of my life. Hopefully he won't be going back out for a long time as he's on a course either November or March next year so there won't be time.

Sending lots of hugs to everyone whose guy is still away. I can say now I survived!!!
