As a service wife can I get anything to proove my existance for a job???

I cringe to ask this but am desperate.

Am a service wife of many years. Not worked for 14 years due to kids and their health issues etc but now am in a position to get back out there. I have been to college sporadically over the years when time and circumstances have allowed.

I need to proove my existence for the last 5 years for a job I desperately want and am applying for.

So I need eveidence of my existence right back to 2009 when we were at another base (moved here spring 2010). I was at college Sept 2010 to June 2011 and from Sept 2013 to now but its the gaps inbetween and from Feb 2009 I need to provide evidence for.

We have never claimed benefits, so nothing there. People at our old base have also moved on and we have lost touch.

We have always lived in SFA. I have always had a Dependents pass (but the base type not the old ones some people had that could be used at any base). Is there anything I may be able to get from the MOD to proove I have been living here? had a dependents pass etc? And if so who and where would I go to enquire.

Or any other ideas???

Did you not automatically get child benefit?

meditrina · 24/01/2014 11:17

What exactly is it you need to prove? All previous addresses or more than that?

MrsCakesPremonition · 24/01/2014 11:19

What sort of thing?

Do you have bank statements/ utility bills which could prove your residence at an address?

Or do you need to fill in the employment gaps with useful activities?

JRsandCoffee · 24/01/2014 14:18

As in you need to prove that you have been resident in the UK for the last five years?

Twigsandshit · 24/01/2014 20:29

The form says I must be able to provide evidence explain where I have been and what I have been doing since January 2009 and be able to verify this.

Confused

Basically I have to proove I am not a terrorist or involved in terrorsist activity I think.

Its just hard to find actual people to verify who I am because everyone moves on and we all lose touch.

I do still have old bank statements and TV Licence etc in my name for previous addresses. I do get child benefit paid directly into our joint account but today I searched through our filing system and the last correspondence I have from the CB people is 2011 confirming they have updated my details with our new address and even that is just a tick box form handwritten.

TBH - I am not sure what they want and dont want but they did say for securty reasons there must be no gaps and I must be able to proove exactly what I have been doing. How do you proof being a housewife??? Produce a few shepherds pies and spag bols and some ironing??

Well all you can do is give them the information and provide back up if they ask for it. Can you speak to someone and ask for some guidance if you are still worried? Even the dreaded online forms tend to have a human lurking somewhere!

Can you prove you are married to DH then prove where he has been posted (JPA printout) then produce his pay statements with cilcot/sfa charges on.
