Political Poppy

Just coming here to get off my chest how gutted I am that remembrance and the RBL and poppy appeal has become so political.

I know it's a free country and people can think and say what they like but it's just upset me so much after a shit few years of close friends deaths and life changing injuries.
I am not one of these people that goes around calling our servicemen and women "Hero's" but just sick of the slating they get.
I have seen some vile stuff online today. Some not very pleasant stuff on here and been criticised for wearing my poppy today. Sad

I don't recall remembrance ever being so politically criticised a few years ago like it is now. It makes me sad to think my Grandfather and other family members fought for our freedom the same freedom these people have to be able to openly slag off our services.

Am honestly not usually so wet but really sad about this tonight.

Yes I get what you mean, seems like a lot less people wear poppies now don't you think?

Yes there are less people that do and so many comments about not donating as well.

I have seen many people use this poppy appeal this year as an excuse to be damn right rude and aggressive.
There are a few charities I choose not to ever support for my own personal reasons but I would never ever be abusive or rude because someone somewhere needs or relies on that charity.
