Do you use a childminder?

If so please sign! Having been a childminder for 8+ years and taking pride in what I do and my ofsted grade, working with parents and being able to take vouchers for childcare this could affect you!

so what would deregulating entail/mean for CMs - not sure I know from reading that? Or did I miss it?

There has been talk in the Media coming from Elizabeth Truss MP that they may look to dergulation childminders in response to Wilshaws comments that childminders are too expensive to inspect. Some of the suggestions made include following an agency model whereby we would give the agency 10% of our income. Without Ofsted number we cannot offer tax credit, voucher support nor could we be accredited. The suggestion is nurseries could become our agencies - even though on inspection many don't do as well as childminders. Thats why we have a petition - and NCMA are also asking for input into their survey individual inspection matters.
