How on earth does everyone cope???

So far my experience of being a forces wife has been pretty cushy. We owned our own home at the last base where my hubby was for 4 years. We have been in living in our current privately rented house for 2 years (no quarters here), I have had mat leave, gone back to work and found childcare easily.

We move again in Sept, destination as yet unknown but possibility of 2 places. I contact the on site nursery to be told their waiting list is a year long and that it virtually impossible to get a quarter. Don't even get me started on the 2nd option.

I feel sick with dread at the upheaval of it all. To add to the mix, my son has some medical needs and thought of going through the whole process of sorting out the NHS stuff is making me ill.

Please tell me to man up x

hi, it is tough sometimes with all the moves. Make sure you put on your 1132 about your DS medical conditions and speak to AFF. They will be able to help in that sense. If there are no quarters then you should be offered to go into SSFA or you can sometimes stay in your current house until a quarter comes available but that depends on how far away it is and of course you could end up married unaccompanied for some time.

I am sure there is something about being able to transfer place on waiting list etc for NHS but ask AFF

oh, and it is fine to moan and feel like you can't cope sometimes. Forces life can be tough

Oh dear, this is how unengaged with the whole process I am. What on earth is a 1132 and an AFF?

We are in SSFA now so I know what that is! Getting into this house took 3 months and my dh ended up bunking in with a friend the duration.
