Trying to get the garden sorted

We have been in this posting for 8 months now and with Spring around the corner I've been trying to get the garden sorted but why oh why are army houses gifted with such awful gardens. Do you think they'd mind if I flattened it and poured cement on top Grin

I personally go with the lawn mower over the flower beds and start from scratch option every time. It just starts to look good and you have to move again. Why can I never move into a house where someone else has looked after the garden before me Confused

Our garden gets all the leaves from my neighbours 12 or so trees, has a huge slope, and loads of dirt spots and no grass!!! I have raked and planted but I really need to get the trees cut down!!

Call the HICMHS (not sure which) and ask for the tree surveyor guy (a yummy one where we live ;)) to pop round and take a look at next door's trees. They will sort them if needs be and you'll have more light and less leaves hopefully.
Obviously it could take a while because they are all crap.
