OP Herrick - Current Allowances?

hf128219 · 30/11/2011 08:17

Can anyone help me out with the current allowances for a tour?

Is the Operational Allowance (tax-free) still payable? Anyone know the rates?

Do you get LSSA (taxable) as well? Anyone have a link to the different levels?

Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure the answer is that you still get both; I'm afraid I don't know the rates though. I'll ask DH when I next get to speak to him....not sure when that'll be.

DoorStop · 30/11/2011 12:43

After a quick google: OA is £29.02 per day, LSSA is £6.69 per day.

hf128219 · 30/11/2011 12:55

Thanks for that!

LSSA - I think they have changed the name to LSA now! - is on different levels depending on how much separation you have accrued. There used to be (I think!) 14 different levels - it may have now changed to 3 levels

Any help on LSSA/LSA much appreciated

My husband left for sandy climes on Monday - the only silver lining is that the op bounty is going towards a new kitchen!

jcscot · 30/11/2011 14:09

According to our calculations, LSA (at Level 2 - my husband's entitlement) is £10.25 pd and is taxable.

hf128219 · 30/11/2011 14:59

Thanks. Looks like that went up to £10.46 in April 2010. Just for the life of me cant find the 2011 rates.

Wouldn't it be odd if our DHs all met each other while they're away - we'd be none the wiser!

DoorStop · 30/11/2011 15:32

Have a look at page 68

jcscot · 30/11/2011 16:47

They'd be none the wiser, either!

How do you know which band is relevant for LSA? It says "qualifying separation" but doesn't say over what period it is accrued.

jcscot · 01/12/2011 14:38

I have no idea - I'm only going spreadsheets we use for household budgeting. The husband provided the LSA band. I'm assuming he knew how to work it out!

perarduaadinfinitum · 01/12/2011 18:26

It says on the pay statement. It states the number of days accrued (since forever think) which will then give you the allowance rate band.

SouthStar · 17/12/2011 03:18

Just checked army net for hubbys last pay statement. lsa at level 5 £353.32 for 21 days. Oct pays statment 1 day at level 4 £15.63. Sorry can only find it for those two levels...

SouthStar · 17/12/2011 03:32
