MOD / DE Move out cleaning scheme

Hi All

We are shortly moving out of our MQ (hurrah), and I am thinking about using the above scheme. Has anyone used it, and has anyone an idea of cost? I spoke to them today and they absolutely refused to say what it might cost for a 4 bed fairly typical quarter which I find incredibly frustrating when trying to organise finances.

Thanks in advance.

I would guess about £350 -£400.

From experience at northwood I would steer clear but only experience of them is there. I have the number of a really good private bloke in south east who is about £350 I think, he will actually be there for march out as well.

A neighbour has just paid £380 for a 3 bed house.

Thanks all. That is kind of what we are expecting. It is just so frustrating that they don't give any indication - I have an expectation that we will be diddled. They will also only do the survey in the middle of the day which is somewhat unhelpful when you work!

From experience and I am not saying this is all estates they don't actually do the clean for march out but do it after the decorators etc have been in prior to next person marching in. Therefore DE don't have to pay them for that. Be cautious!

MrsMatelot · 28/04/2011 14:50

.........and even then they don't do a great job. I suppose it is less stress for those moving out, but not for those moving into a dirty house. From my experience DE don't bother to check up on them to see its been cleaned to the required standard!

I paid £310 for a 3 bed, a year ago. That included pet supplement and carpet cleaning. If we had no dogs and I had cleaned the carpets myself it would have been about £250. It was worth every penny for me, to be able to just walk out when the removals had finished.
I think Ideals' contract says they have to do the clean within a month of marchout - I don't know if this actually happens though...

fedupwithdeployment · 16/05/2011 22:13

Just had the quote - £390 incl VAT, which I think is quite reasonable. Agree with Leonard's sentiments!
