Do I need to tell the boss of someone in the Armed Forces if I intend to take a member of their Sqn to court?

For example, if I take SAC so and so to court, do I need to let Warrant Officer so and so know?

I would have thought that would be the responsibility of SAC so and so to tell his Warrant Officer that he is boing taken to court for whatever reason but I may be wrong!

It is the responsibility of the Service person to inform their chain of command of any court dealings - it's in QRs.

Thank you - I just wanted to check, as there is a strong possibility that I will be taking (2) servicepeople to court. I'd been told by a friend in a similar situation to me that it was up to me to ring the person's boss as a courtesy to tell them
