Help with sewing badges on brassard

Please could you tell me where I sew a new badge on an Army Combined Cadet Force brassard. My daughters have just done their first Steps camping out exercise and are keen to get the brassard right before their next parade on Friday.
They have a brassard with the name of their school CCf section at the top. Now I've got to sew on a red half cross badge and an air rifle badge

Can't tell you exactly (ATC, not CCF) but if you google it there should be some dress regs somewhere on the internet - failing that ask school if they have a diagram.

Hope this helps, like Penguin I'm only familiar with Air Cadet brassard positioning. They should have received instruction on where to position the badges, so double check with them; though they might have forgotten!

It's always good to show them how to sew them on themselves, so they can do it in the future but also it solves the problem of badges falling off on camp with no Mummy around to fix it. Plus it's character building and gives them a sense of pride that they have looked after their own uniform.

Well all hope is lost if a cadet isn't ironing their own uniform When I was a cadet I told my carers under no circumstances should they even TOUCH my uniform without me nearby. One time they thought they were doing me a favour and ironed my trousers for me when I was out with mates. I spent literally HOURS trying to put the creases back in the proper places.

It was horrific

I remember I refused to help a cadet who had a horrendous nosebleed for fear of getting blood on my uniform or shoes. I was the only First Aid qualified person in the building but that didn't make the blindest bit of difference for me, I still wouldn't go near him.

Wingdad Your post about the nosebleed made me laugh. Well, I think my original post was misleading because I am ace at sewing but just don't know exactly WHERE to sew them. No rude answers please! I mean exactly what position on the brassard. Anyway so far all the websites I've looked at have been ATC. I'll have to phone the cadet leader and get his advice but I don't want to look like an ignorant wally.

on a slight tangent - my sister (who is an admirable dressmaker type who has hand-constructed wedding dresses as a business etc etc) ran out of time before her own wedding, and ended up 'finishing' (read - entirely cutting out and stitching together) the bridesmaid dresses the night before. externally, gorgeous. but i spent the entire day terrified that my heels were going to catch on the looseley tacked/ webbed/ chopped/ pinned hems though.

clearly her atc training had done cock all for her time management skills.
