How to address email?

I recieved aletter I need to reply to by email from-

J Bloggs
Corporal
For Officer Commanding

how do I address the email? Thanks Confused

Hmm - not sure.
I reckon it might depend on what the letter is about as to how you reply.

I guess, it would be better to address it as:

Dear Major ...........

Further to your recent letter...bla bla bla.....

Then you can't go wrong by addressing back to the corporal. Is that what you meant?

If you don't know the OC you're writing back to, then I'd put:

Officer Commanding

Re: Bla Bla Bla

Firther to your recent letter...... etc

it's just convention to use 'for oc' - it's not like 'pp'ing in civvie street really.

oh, i know a lady cpl bloggs who writes letters like that, but she isn't at henlow. our anonymity is safe. Grin (well, it would be if i didn't keep writing my life story on other threads lol)
