Does anyone know how big the cots are that you get issued as furniture? Is there a standard cot size? If so, can I just go ahead and buy sheets now, or do I need to wait till its installed in the house to find out?

Cheers!

I've personally never had one but 2 of my previous neighbours had them. They were brand new mamas and papas ones. Not sure if it's anything to do with health and safety that they have to be new or if they were just lucky.

I think all cot bedding is just a standard size?

Standard size, you will be issued with a brand new mattress.

Yes - the ones I've seen at friends' houses, were lovely.

we've had 6 issue cots so far, what with various moves, and they've all been really quite nice (would happily have bought similar for dcs) and about half of them were brand new. the mattresses have always been new & wrapped in plastic and are standard size.

Lovely, plain wooden cots. The matresses are always brand new and the cots often are. Mine wasn't but you'd never know, I just gave it a good wipe down with miltons to be sure it was clean although I'm not sure it needed it. My jersey cotton cot sheets fitted absolutely fine because they are nice and stretchy. As long as you buy standard cot sized bedding you will be absolutely fine.

The play pens are good too, great to keep baby out of the way of boisterous dogs / siblings.

The high chairs are apparently always new because it is always impossible to get them completely clean. To be honest I'd get the cheap ikea one because you can get them clean, put them in the dishwasher if needs be.

Cot, playpen and highchair all now arrived - I didn't expect them to be here so quickly, but at least I know what they're like now!
