Ivy growing through my wall!

Ok, calm me down please, since I've lived in this married quarter I have repeatedly requested that MHS remove the ivy from my house (mainly because it attracts wasps in summer which I hate) but they have always done a half hearted trim which I could do myself. Well today I have found ivy actually growing through my wall. We are in a concrete pre fab so my mind is boggling at wondering how much of the wall is full of ivy and the damp etc it will surely bring this winter. GAH!!!!!! Cue more phone calls to MHS tomorrow no doubt.

How do you mean - you can actually see it internally? Or you can see it's growing in from the outside?

I think, rather than cutting it down and risking not getting all root out (although it's relatively easy to get roots up), you can get special ivy root killer to get rid for good.

I'd try that rather than wait months on end for MHS. When they easily manage to leave people waiting for months for repairs such as toilet leaks etc, I don't think they'll make ivy a priority knowing them!

You could always ask the patch gardeners on the quiet, if they can get rid of it for you - if you pay them.
