Disastrous Chocolate mousse

So fuming. Am 9 months preg (due in 5 days) its boiling hot and now the mousse i spent ages on is broken.

The recipe sounded a little strange - chop up white choc, add heated cream to melt, stir in, then seperately whisk double cream then fold the two mixes together. I did this, was way too thin, so recipe suggests continue whisking - tried this, wasn't working for about two minutes, at which point it split. Its totally ruined, am really cross.

Is it just me, or is that a really arse about tit way to do things? I've never come across a recipe before that tells you to keep whisking after you've folded something in. Just seems so strange. I hate gordon ramsey.

Does sound strange. Whisking after folding in would knock all the air out, surely?

HouseofCrazy · 10/07/2010 15:05

Maybe it meant whisk JUST the cream more?

But that would again only work BEFORE folding!

It was wrong. Gordon is crap. Nigella rescued me - hurrah for nigella! Who knew making chocolate mousse with marshmellows would work?
