Can anyone tell me when it is safe to give an 8 month old eggs? I have read that they can have the egg yolk, but not the white till they're a year, but then I've also read that I can start giving him scrambled eggs. am confused!

yes you can but they should be cooked right through (not runny yolks)

Thanks.
Do you know why some people advise not giving the egg white till a year?
I am a little cautious as a friend gave her baby egg at 6 months and he had an allergic reaction

I gave my daughter a small bit of scrambled egg around 8 months old & she had an allergic reaction. Fortunately it was in the morning that I gave her the egg so saw what happened.

The Dr advised me that it was the protein in the egg yolk that would have caused the problem & that they tend to grow out of it around 1yr.

She is now 3 yrs & loves egg.

I'd suggest just not giving egg until they are older, or products that are mainly egg, such as quiche. DD was always ok with cakes.
