Hello
I know this seems the wrong way round and most kids won't eat if they are being distracted, but my 8 month old will only eat if you take his mind off the fact he is eating.
He's having 2 bottles of milk a day now (morning and evening) then has breakfast at 7ish, lunch at 12ish and dinner at 5ish.
We sit him in his highchair in our dining room and he will only open his mouth for food if my husband jumps up and down or does something funny, or if I sing to him or show him a book. He will never just sit there and open his mouth if you offer food.
If you sit him in front of Waybuloo or another programme he finds totally captivating he will willingly eat too. But if we take him out to a public place there's no Waybuloo and embarrasment prevents us leaping around and singing so it's almost impossible to feed him.
Is this just a phase? Does anyone have any ideas for getting him to eat without intense entertainment so we can go out and do things and know he will eat something for lunch?
