Got to take a pudding or salad to a family party on Sunday but we are camping overnight on Saturday. Has anyone any ideas as I am stumped?

is a cool box an option?

Eton mess? Buy ingredients on way?

I would make a pudding rather than a salad - something you don't have to keep in the fridge.

Chocolate brownies and buy some nice ice cream to serve with them on the way to the party?

Do have cool-box though will have to share space with bacon, eggs, milk and wine

Brownies great idea though will have to lie and hide them from DH and DC

Visit to supermarket on the Sunday, buy something.

zandy - very tempted but seem to have developed a reputation as a cook

Buy something from m&s and take the label off

Trust me they would know!

Last party we went to everything was homemade and very, very delicious.

brownies, vanilla ice cream and raspberries will go down well!

Chocolate brownies make a great pudding and they will keep well overnight in a tin or airtight container. You could serve them with raspberries which would just need to be kept cool and washed on the day.

A chocolate cake/gateau could also work if you made a particularly indulgent one!

Husband suggested an apple pie which could be eaten cold...which made me think of lemon meringue pie on similar lines as it only needs a tin to be stored in too.

I'll see if I can think of anything else but hopefully that gives you some ideas!

Have just noticed this post updated whilst I was thinking! It had no posts when I started!

Glad that so many minds think alike though...

Lots of lovely suggestions, some of which will be used at home - DH loves lemon meringue pie

Going to go with Brownies and raspberries (with the possibility of ice-cream though party is an outside buffet-type affair and ice-cream may either melt or be forgotten)

Will make double quantity so we can scoff brownies outside tent on Saturday night

Thank you everyone for your help.
