Right. Today I have already eaten a danish pastry, a Penguin and 2 biscuits. Over the weekend I shoveled in a load of pick 'n' mix and it is TIME TO STOP.

Too much sugar all the time, feel lethargic.

So who wants to join the club?

Sweets (sob), cakes, biscuits, chocolate etc are banned.

Starting from now!

Right well I have had a line off the dairy milk today soooooo I will not have any more today.

I promise

NomDePlume · 16/08/2005 13:56

lol OO !

I'll try it for a week, see how I get on.

Nbg · 16/08/2005 13:57

I have done it before and after the 1st week the craving for chocolate disappeared but as soon as I ate it again I couldn't stop.

ninah · 16/08/2005 13:58

a line of dairy milk nbg
sounds like the drug it is
Good luck to you all - I will think of you fondly and with a degree of envy when I am lumbering around like a toothless elephant with biscuit crumbs in all my creases

oliveoil · 16/08/2005 14:00

Yes, for a week and see how we go.

I am only in today and tomorrow at work, then not back in till Tuesday, so will try and get on the home computer to report in without children hanging off my legs.

Lol Ninah!

I really need to join this too, but have to finish the Green and Blacks Butterscotch bar before I do (and it's a BIG one!!).

Seriously though, I eat far too much sweet stuff every day and have masses of weight to loose.

I may start by trying to avoid it during the week and allowing myself a little treat at the weekends. Would that be OK?

oliveoil · 16/08/2005 14:20

No CaribeanQueen, nothing at weekends either. I am going to try anyway.

Are you joining up then?

OP posts:
northerner · 16/08/2005 14:40

Seriously, I keep trying to do this myself but have little willpower. I am in the process of moving house and getting a bit stressed. Last night I really wanted a fag (gave up over a year ago) so consoled myself with 2 blue ribbands, and 4 choc digestives. In the office this morning I've had 2 bluberry muffins (small ones though) already.

In reveal magazine this week, there is a diet where you lose a stone in a week, but for treats it says you can have 1 celebration every other day! WTF? I can eat 1 every second.

oliveoil · 16/08/2005 15:23

I have just walked past plate loads of cakes in the office and not had one.

Northener - will give you a small exemption on moving house.

I would join (because I really need to), but denial makes me worse. I am definitely going to cut my sugar intake down though. I need to take sugary food as a treat instead of my staple diet. I am one of those people that will always forego a piece of fruit or a yogurt with lunch for a choccie barinstead. I know I can't do without it completely though.

northerner · 16/08/2005 15:58

AAAAAARGHHHHHHHHHH. Just had my solicitor on the phone. Might not be moving on Monday now. Slight delay in the upper end of the chain.

oliveoil · 17/08/2005 09:28

Oh no Northener, when will you be moving then????

I am checking in to confirm no sugar intake. Gold star award. AND there is a big slab of crunchie choc Dairy Milk in my fridge talking to me all evening but NOOOOOOOO I resisted.

northerner · 17/08/2005 09:35

Well done on resisting the cocolate.

NomDePlume · 17/08/2005 09:46

I'm so bad... Forgive me Olive, for I have sinned...

This morning I've had a cup of tea (no sugar) with whole milk, one half chocolate covered stem ginger cookie & 3 Fox's chocolate Vienese (sp).

oliveoil · 17/08/2005 09:47

Tut tut.

NDP it's NOT even 10am yet.

Say 154 hail mary's and only eat 3 raisins for the rest of the day.

NomDePlume · 17/08/2005 09:51

I've promised to take DD into town for a cake so my punishment will be watching DD eat a HUGE bakewell tart painfully s-l-o-w-l-y.

careful, you'll get the Mumsnet Giving Cake to Kids Police on yer case.......

OP posts:
NomDePlume · 17/08/2005 09:53

Ah well, I can live with their disapproval. I got enough flak on the 'how many partners have you had' thread, I can live with the cake police
