Want to make this, however, I only have some chardonnay in the fridge, do you think it's ok?

Have you been watching Come dine with me?

I reckon it should be fine.

Come to think of it, I did see someone make a coq au something. Maybe thats where I got my craving for it.

It wasnt recent was it? Remind me who it was.

I don't see why not - you make coq au vin with light reds anyway, and you are "allowed" to drink whites with chicken. Chardonnay better than Riesling, so go for it.

I made it last night with sauvignon blanc and it tasted lovely!

I made it for lunch today, with chardonnay, was good. Never made it before, and am suprised how easy it was, and how utterly delicious.

My ds, who is quite fussy, gobbled it up. Wish there was a lighter version though, mine was definitely not a low fat meal.

You can do a lighter version in a slow cooker with no frying - or just fry the bacon bits.

Skinless thighs do really nicely in the slow cooker. Finish with creme fraiche before serving instead of cream.
