Veggie soup recipe help

Please help mners (DH is not confident I will get an answer)

I have a veggie soup recipe that I am scaling up as I am catering for 20 guides and leaders over the weekend.

The recipe calls for Tomato sauce

DH thinks it is tomato puree, I am not sure & it is causing a disagreement as to whether the recipe is american or not and cannot find a link on amazon for the book

Can anyone help??

How much does it say? Tomato puree tastes horrible unless in v tiny amounts and cooked for a v long time. Maybe passata?

the remainder of the recipe is fry onions + garlic, add carrots, courgettes, butternut squash cook for 3-5 mins, add herbs,chopped toms, chicken stock and tom Sauce and simmer for 15 mins

Passata sounds like it might be the answer
