Lunchbox ideas?

DC's have started coming home saying the portion sizes at school are very small and DD in particular says she is often still hungry after lunch. They occasionally have a packed lunch but have now asked if they can have a packed lunch for the rest of the term which I have agreed to.

What do you put in your dc's lunch-boxes? I need some ideas as I don't want them to get bored with ham sandwiches every day

Have you complained to the school about the portion sizes? pitta bread with varying fillings are good (you can sneak in some small veggies as well). Dips if your DS's are adventurous.

I did wonder about doing just that ppeatfruit but DD does have an enormous appetite - and there's nothing to her! I might have a chat with some of the other mums and see what they say before I talk to the school.

Sounds like your DD will need a bigger than average lunch box!! Good luck

My DD's (8) average lunch box contains;

2 x sandwiches (ham/cheese/salami/nutella on a friday!)
1 x cheese string/pot of grated cheese
1 x satsuma
1 x flapjack/penguin biscuit
1 x pot of fruit like berries or chopped nectarine
1 x Caprisun/smoothie
