Nigella's Coke Ham Recipe - Question!

I was thinking of roasting a whole ham joint for DS's christening and wondered if you can/or meant to serve it cold? Stupid question I know but I don't want to risk serving something that is horrible!

It's lovely cold and I use up left overs in pasta (with peas, cream, chicken stock and parmesan)

It also is nice made into chicken and ham pie. double leftover use up in our house.

it's lovely cold, although i personally won't be making it again as it's a terrible waste of the stock. better imo to do a ham in water with celery, onion, bay, carrot etc and then do a mustard and brown sugar crust for the oven. then you get a mind-blowingly good lentil soup out of it as well.

Seriously reconsider the coke version. I tried it once and it was the worst thing I have ever cooked. I know two other people who also tried it and regretted it.

For a special occasion use cider. That makes great soup too (with lentils and smoky bacon)!
