How do I make crumble?!!!

Help!

Having a total blank on how you make crumble.

Want to make a rhubarb crumble but can't remember how you make the crumble.

Can anyone help?

Flour (plain if you have it, SR fine if not), sugar (cold, cut into cubes) and unsalted butter. Rub together with fingers to make crumby mixture, spread on top of fruit (I don't bother stewing apples first, but I would if it's rhubarb).

If you fancy making it a bit 'special' - add some oats to your crumble mixture. I made one this weekend, I think it was about 200g butter, 200g - 220g flour, 150g sugar (I use either light muscavodo or golden caster sugar, depending what I have in the house) and 75g oats

Bake in oven for 40 mins or so at 180 c. HTH

crumble topping in this house is lump of marg, rubbed into plain flour to make large bread crumbs, then stir in a generous shake of oats and some sugar.

Amounts are a bit bucket cooking here.

I put a table spoon water in with the rhubarb and heavily sugar it as the variety we have tends to the bitter side. You can add lemon rind and juice to the rhubarb if you fancy.

I melt the butter first before mixing with plain four and sugar. Then stir in melted butter and it goes into bread crumb texture on it's own!

I rub together by hand
1 cup flour
1 cup porridge oats
1 cup gound almonds
1 cup soft brown sugar
1 cup soft butter
a little salt (if I use unsalted butter), cinnamon, cardamom, black pepper to taste.

Make extra - the crumble mix freezes brilliantly, and you use it straight from frozen as well.
