Hi Everyone, my mum suggested i tried scrambled egg with my little boy when he was just under 6months, he had a flushing reaction ( no swelling etc) just red skin and he threw it all back up. I think he was a bit too young. I have avoided egg ever since, (hes now 9.5months), the doctor has said to avoid until he is one to be super super safe but this seems a little extreme. Has anyone had anything similar. I want to try just egg yolk on its own or something where the egg is combined with other things - ie. sponge or yorkshire pudding ?? He has tried so many other things now and it would be nice to expand the options.
He has also had his jabs and was fine, but if he still hasnt tried egg before he is one he has to have his mmr jab in a hospital ?

Does sound like an allergy. My DD was the same, although her face did swell up a bit and she got an itchy rash.

She is nearly 6 now and is still allergic to egg.

I would be tempted to wait a little and then try him with sponge cake or something similar with egg baked into it.

Have you tried a skin test? Just rub a tiny amount of raw egg onto his arm and see if there is a reaction. If there is then I wouldn't give him any to eat.

My DD had her MMR at the hospital and she was absolutely fine

The trouble with allergies (if that's what it was) is that the reaction can get much worse on the second exposure. So, as on most occasions, I think you should listen to your doctor and leave it a few more months before you try egg again.
