I don't think toddlers are part of the recipe are they?

Brown the sausages in the (metal) dish you're going to cook the toad in, in a very hot oven.

Make Yorkshire pudding batter.

Take smoking sausage dish out of oven.

Pour batter over.

Quickly put back in oven.

Cook till brown and risen.

Sorry no times or oven temps because I have an Aga.

thank you - so the sausages aren't cooked through necessarily when you add the batter?

You'll have to slice the toddlers very thinly . . .

Yes I would make sure the sausages are well cooked and brown.

Slicing toddlers - you'd need to tie them down first somehow to stop them wriggling!

If you have a muffin tin, you could halve the chipolatas and make little toads in little holes.

Put a teaspoon of oil in each hole, add a halved chioplata and cook for about 10 mins or so to brown, then fill each hole with the yorkshire batter (about half full) and cook for another 15 or so minutes. I can't remember what tem I usually do it at though (I have to consult books and I'm not at home right now)

i do high temp 240 say for 8 minutes with fat in tin,
sausages 10 minutes,
batter 10 minutes

lower temp to 180 for about 30 minutes, or less.
