Muscovado sugar.... can I substitute??

I usually have some of this lurking in the back of the cupboard, but not today, so wondered whether I can substitute either Demerera or Soft Brown sugar instead??? Or is there something very special about Muscovado?

I am baking biscuits for very small children, so it only has to work, rather than be a disaster - no biscuit competitions or anything!!!

Many thanks.

I'd use soft brown. It won't be the same taste but will still be delish...

Thanks so much, it's a while since I used muscovado (as you can tell!) but figured soft brown is pretty rich tasting, so should hopefully work!!

Bless you for your help, just saved me a trip through horrid roadworks to the shop!

Were they nice?

BB, they came out just FINE, thank you!! The three and four year olds weren't at all interested in what went in, only licking the bowl and sticking in the smarties afterwards!

Thx for help!
