Banana splits-definitive recipe please?

My children tell me my banana splits aren't right. So to settle the argument how do you make yours?

Banana, ice cream, fruit salad, squirty cream, chocolate sprinkle (soooooo not healthy!)

Fruit salad? Do you mean that stuff in a tin that only ever has 1 cherry?
